This book is a bad read. I couldn't finish it. I tried as I was hoping it would improve as there was so many good reviews. But, after reading about 1/4 of it I gave up. I doubt very much that a Navy Seal would be stupid and bring danger home to his family. I really don't think they would stop in the middle of danger to have sex! A trained Seal would not let "feeling" interfere with his mission. And why do authors feel they have to use foul language to write a good story?

I’ve had this book on my Kindle for a long time and with a mile-high TBR, it was only due to a recent recommendation on Facebook that I decided to go ahead and start the Titan Series. I hate that I waited so long as this was one rocking, fast paced, suspenseful read from beginning to end. There was plenty of action between guns, bombs, kidnappings, torture and a special ops group, Titan. Colby Winters is ex-military and sent on a seemingly simple retrieval when he sees Mia Kensington taking the package. Before he can get the package from her, some men who he calls ‘Team Tagalong’ grab her and start hauling her out of the airport to their vehicle. When he locates her, he takes her and the package but she is one feisty woman, kicking and fighting.A Columbian who specializes in kidnapping young girls wants the disk that has evidence against him, so he sends numerous operatives after Mia and the disk. There is the usual push-pull of emotions throughout the story with both Winters and Mia attracted to each other but not sure whether to move forward or not. Every time they think they are safe then the bad guys show up again and Mia is taken. Winters gets the Titan group involved and they head to Columbia for the rescue with plenty of action involved. This was a very entertaining story with the suspense and the building connection between Colby and Mia. I loved all of the characters and couldn’t wait to read about Cash next so started Sweet Girl and then Garrison’s Creed immediately after this story.

Well, I'm really into Cristin Harber now! Her good friend and romance author (of equal caliber I might add), Kelly Elliott, recommended Cristin and read Delta Rescue first and enjoyed it.Winter's Heat is a romantic suspense, my favorite kind of read, and Book#1 in the Titan series. I loved Colby who is an ex-Seal, now working for Titan. He thinks he's just out for a routine retrieval until he unexpectedly meets Mia. She's like nothing or no one Colby has ever known. She carries her own baggage. The story flows well and is fast paced and of course has got my required hot & juicy getting to know you between Colby and Mia. I definitely do not want to vacation in Columbia anytime soon. Cristin sure knows how to write to scare the heck out of you describing those cartel guys. I almost had to stop and take a shower because I could actually drum up the smells of bad guys!I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the other guys in Titan and can't wait to start "Garrison's Creed". Gotta go. I'm going to be busy for awhile.

As someone who LOVES romantic suspense, I found it really hard to get into Winter's Heat. Which is a shame because I've read Cristin Harber in the past and really enjoyed it. And this one had the bones to be good but something was just off. Here's what threw me. I found the pace a bit slow. Some of the scenes repetitive and honestly, considering the synopsis, the suspense wasn't nearly what I was anticipating. And all the hot and cold between Mia and Winters started to get annoying. I get it, Mia! You've got walls and good reasons for them but give the man a break already! That being said, I liked the idea behind the book. Both Mia and Colby on their own mission but end up crossing paths and having to work together to figure it out. Save themselves and the mission. Lust and passion burn bright but there is always the threat of danger lurking...And nothing forces someone to examine what they really want than the threat of death.

Winters Heat by Cristin HarberColby Winters may have met his match in Mia Kensington. However, time will prove that Miss Khakis and Cardigan, as he originally refers to her, is far more forceful than he thought. She may not be a trained operative but she can be formidable.Colby is to pick up a "package" at the airport. Simple right? That was Plan A. Immediately Winters is in need of Plan B when he finds Miss Khakis and Cardigan is ahead of him and is retrieving the package. Winters isn’t the only one to see the young woman retrieve the object; thugs from a Columbian human trafficking ring are also there to obtain the same. Mia may be the first to obtain the object but not for long. The brutes not only retrieve the package, they collect Mia as well. Now for Plan C, you need to be flexible in this game.Plan C is to retrieve the package as well as Miss Khakis and Cardigan. She wasn’t thrilled with her original capture. Nor is she thrilled with the rescue by the Knight dressed in a black T-shirt and tactical pants. The objective may be satisfied but now the real fun begins for Colby and Mia. The Columbian group is not going to let the object slip away so easily. It doesn’t matter that the first two Columbians found Winters to be deadly, there are more to follow through. They will keep coming determined to complete their original mission. If they can't retrieve the object from Winters, then they will take Mia as a bargaining chip in this lethal quest. Now Mia is going to experience more than she ever thought she could endure. She will learn that Colby isn’t only the answer to her survival but as a personal distraction. However, the human traffickers will take every deadly measure to complete their objective.Colby isn’t the only one needing to switch plans from the original directive. Now it is Mia’s turn to become the hero as well as a damsel in major distress; as she finds herself held captive in the rain forest of Colombia with some horrifying individuals. The action is heart-pounding, with results meaning life or death for Mia and Colby. Not only is Mia brave, she is willing to go toe to toe and head to head with the boss man of the Titan group, Jared Westin. Is love in the cards for Colby and Mia? Will they survive long enough to find out? Finally, will they be able to accept what the future holds for them?
