I'm an artist & this book is almost exactly what I would write about paper & paint techniques for collage. It is very thorough & covers a lot of the fun techniques that yield interesting results. Very inspiring & well worth the investment for newcomers & seasoned professionals alike.
Elizabeth's work is inspiring. Her book is another art form making paper look like her paint and palette. It's everything mixed media. I am glad she showed her technique using pictures first as she shows how to shade,shadow and blending, which can easily turn to world of the abstract for those who love doing the abstract thing. Yes, I am very happy with her book and her work.
I am a new, largely self-taught collage artist and I loved this book. It teaches a style of collage that I particularly enjoy viewing and creating. I learned many techniques and look forward to applying some of them to my own work. The art showcased in this book is sheer pleasure too. Very inspirational.
This book is exactly what I was looking for as far as painting my own papers for my artwork. The author gives detailed instructions for creating many different types of painted papers. My collage technique is very different than hers but I still found this book to be very useful. She is a wonderful artist and a great teacher as well. This book will be dog eared in no time flat!

So inspiring! Lots of color pictures, and the artist explains in detail how to go about creating these innovative paintings. Far from your standard collage, this elevates the art to another level. I felt like the artist truly shared her full technique and did not leave steps out - she really worked to help the reader understand why she does each step.
Great book for mixed medium work. Lots of great pictures and easy to read instructions. Glad I bought it.
Paper techniques can be applied to fabric collage as well.
